Bad things happen, they just do. If you’re a survivor of any of the multitude of tragedies life throws our way, you know that it’s easy to get swept up in the drama of said tragedy.
It’s easy to feel sorry for yourself and wonder how it is that the rest of the world has the audacity to be moving forward, when such a sadness is occurring in your world and in your heart.
I found that one of the keys to my success in surviving my life's trauma is that I don't get caught up in my problems for too long. I would suggest you can do the same. You must refuse to let the troubles you face today, deplete all the good that you had planned for your life.
I know there are times that moving past your trauma feels like an impossible task. I know some days it can be extremely difficult to imagine that you'll ever rise above the pain you feel in your heart. But I promise you, it's possible.
Focus on all the good in your life. Focus on all you want your life to be. Focus on goals for the future. Imagine yourself already moving past your trauma, and you're one step closer to healing.
Don’t let the sadness you feel in this moment, define the person you were meant to become in this lifetime.
Get up, dust yourself off, and keep moving forward. No matter how big your problem seems, the days will get better, and you can get back to being that amazing person you know still lives somewhere inside you.
